FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

If you are an existing ‘Ohana Rewards member, here’s what you need to know about the new app and online ordering system. Be sure to reset your ‘Ohana Rewards account password via an email sent to you on January 22 to experience our updated program. All loyalty information, including Lei and gift card balances have been transferred, so there’s no need to create a new loyalty account.

Yes, our ‘Ohana Rewards Loyalty Program remains unchanged. You will still earn 2 Lei for every $1 spent and new members will still receive $5 off and 89 Lei on their second purchase. Lei redemption rates (e.g., 100 Lei = $1 off) remain the same.

  1. Update your app in the Apple or Google Play store by following the below steps. Existing app users do not need to download a new app.
    1. Open the App Store.
    2. Tap your profile picture or the My Account button.
    3. Scroll down to see pending updates (you may need to scroll down to “refresh”).
    4. Tap Update next to the app you want to update (Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii).
  2. If you have not reset your password since January 22, select forgot password in the new app. 
    1. If you do not receive the reset password email, please email ohanarewards@badasscoffee.com. 

Reward Redemption

There are three ways to redeem a reward: in the app, online, and in-store. Additionally, there are two types of rewards: bankable points (‘Redeem’ screen on mobile app) and rewards automatically loaded to your account, the birthday reward, for example.

MOBILE APP ORDER: BANKABLE POINTS

  1. Tap “Redeem” in the bottom menu.
  2. Select “Redeem [Reward Name]” for the reward you want. In this example, we’re redeeming Twisted Malasadas for 150 Lei. 
  3. Add the item to your order.
  4. Apply rewards at checkout.
  5. Place your order.

IN-STORE ORDER: BANKABLE POINTS

To use a bankable points reward in-store, you must “reward yourself” before placing your order. This is a very similar redemption process to the mobile app bankable points redemption process. 

Using the mobile app:

  1. Tap “Redeem” in the bottom menu.
  2. Select “Redeem [Reward Name]” for the reward you want. In this example, we’re redeeming Twisted Malasadas for 150 Lei. 
  3. Order the item (Twisted Malasadas) in-store.
  4. Next, scan your QR code or share your phone number with the barista to log-in to loyalty.
  5. Then tell the barista you want to apply your Twisted Malasada reward to your order. 

ONLINE ORDER: BANKABLE POINTS

Log in to your account via Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii Member Portal (My Guest Account).

  1. Click “Redeem Points” in the navigation bar.
  2. Select the reward and add it to your cart.
  3. Check out and place your order.
  4. Place an order online.

MOBILE APP ORDER: AUTOMATIC REWARDS

In this example, we’re redeeming stored value. Other examples of automatic rewards include the birthday reward (free drink of choice) and various limited time offers like $1 off coconut flavored drinks. 

  1. Order item(s) of your choice. 
  2. Select Apply Rewards at checkout.
  3. Select the reward you want to redeem. In this example, it’s $6 stored value. 
  4. Select apply reward. 
  5. Place your order.

IN-STORE ORDER: AUTOMATIC REWARDS

Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii Member Portal (My Guest Account):

  1. Log in to your account via Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii Member Portal (My Guest Account).
  2. Click “Redeem Points” in the navigation bar.
  3. Select the reward and add it to your cart.
  4. Check out and place your order. 

ONLINE ORDER: AUTOMATIC REWARDS

Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii Member Portal (My Guest Account):

  1. Log in to your account via Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii Member Portal (My Guest Account).
  2. Click “Redeem Points” in the navigation bar.
  3. Select the reward and add it to your cart.
  4. Check out and place your order

‘OHANA REWARDS LOYALTY PROGRAM FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Lei are points that you can earn as an ‘Ohana Rewards member. Lei may be redeemed for special offers like free drinks, exclusive discounts, and more. As an ‘Ohana Rewards member, you will earn 2 Lei for every $1 spent.

  • Online or via the app: Log into your account before ordering.
  • In-store: Scan your digital ‘Ohana Rewards QR code or provide your associated phone number.

No, you can join ‘Ohana Rewards without downloading the app. Sign up here and use your mobile browser to order online and earn Lei. Provide your phone number in-store to earn Lei.

No, Lei do not expire.

Online: You may view your available ‘Ohana Rewards offers in Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii Member Portal (My Guest Account) online or in your mobile app on the Redeem screen.

In store: Scan the QR code on the home screen of the app or give your phone number to the barista.

Lei may take up to 24 hours to appear in your account. If you don’t see them, ensure you scanned the app in-store, provided your phone number in-store, or were signed in during app or online ordering.

No problem! Scan the QR code on your receipt in the “Forgot to Scan?” section of the app. Then select “submit”. The “select button” may be grayed out, but once you’ve scanned, you will need to press submit.

No, our app does not take Apple Pay or Google Pay. The app supports the following forms of payment: credit/debit, gift, and coupon. 

No, only one reward can be used per transaction. Mahalo for your understanding.

No, Lei cannot be earned for purchases on badasscoffeestore.com.

Physical gift cards: Available at participating locations.
Digital gift cards: Online (Purchase Egift Cards for Bad Ass Coffee of Hawaii) or via the app.

Gift cards can be used at participating locations:

  • In-store: Swipe your card or scan the QR code for digital cards.
  • Online: Add the card to your rewards account, then select it as the payment method at checkout.

  • Physical cards: If your card has a reg. code, you may check your balance online (see helpful links below). If your card does not have a reg. code, please contact customer support at ohanarewards@badasscoffee.com for assistance. If you are in a store, the barista can look up your balance on the POS. 
  • All cards: Balances are displayed in the app and on My Guest Account once added to your rewards account.

No, gift cards purchased in-store or via the app cannot be used on badasscoffeestore.com. For online store gift cards, visit the website directly.
